Yes they do. You have to change the permit and each resident is allocated so many books of 5 visitor passes which you have to pay for. I think you cant buy more than 30 passes per 12 month period IIRC. Its a trully silly system. Each area of residents parking in Hove typically then has about 10 parking spaces thatre are payment meters on first coime first served and additional spaces which become residents only after 6pm through to 9am. The times vary too between areas. Incidentally its privately run and enforced.

They will have no problem doing this, as it is they check your veichle details. My first application failed because the Audi was still registered in Southampton. i had to re-register the car to get a permit.

See abopve they do ask and then verify it with the DVLA. Heafty fine if you deliberately try and subvert it. I had to produce the V5 and a bill for Goldstone Villas before they would be convinced and ignore the DVLA database.

Beleive it or not, they do. The enforcement of parking in Brighton and hove beggars beleife. The first ticket I got was because I was 3" out of a bay and into a residents only space. The second because I was parked in a pay for space with a permit.


Sadly the parking enforcem,ent and rules in that area are sufficiently draconian as it is so that enforcing this wouldnt actually be any harder than what they already do.  Although it wouldnt apply to non residents. Its another example of bandwagon jumping at its finest.

Hell buy a series 2, if it's road tax exempt then surely it follows that it's parking tax exempt..

As far as I'm concerned if it's public road, which it is, it belong to the public.  If yoiu liv ein that town then it's your public road, and your right to park on it.


Politicians in tis country are power-mad, they have all forgottne they work for us, they should have to survive a vote of no confidence before they are allowed to return to power.  Crikey, king tony would be f***** then :?
