Backfiring

Yoshi:
Today the series 3 started backfiring and stuttering quite badly.

Dont know whats up with it, dont know when it was last serviced.

Any ideas?

Misfire?  Bad distributor cap or wires or plugs - if you still have the points in the dizzy, make sure they are set correctly also.  If you got it wet recently it will make these issues worse, also.  Check for condensation under the distributor cap.

Yoshi:
Dizzy cap was dry as a bone, and relatively clean.  Dont know about the rest, am going to change the leads and plugs next and see what happens.

its not a backfire - thats the after burners kicking in.
