i watched a bloke do that with a steel wire, trying to recover a paj, it did the same, nearly tore thro the bonnet of his truck when it came back at him.

Please tell us what exactly is so bad about it ?

I thought with a kinetic rope you drove away at a reasonable pace not fast but steady to store the energy in the rope and then either enough energy got stored in it to assist the recovery or you stopped. I also had the idea that you never used a snatch recovery with kinetics as the forces were too great to be safe.

If there was a knot in the rope then it should never have been used. I had a long chat with a manufacturer about this and he had an excellent demonstration of how a knot effectively gets the rope to cut through itself in the knot. It was very interesting - he wasn't really a fan of kinetic ropes despite making them.

David - what was with the guy in the red RR hitting the Suzuki in another video you posted. Doesn't he like his truck or something?

That video just goes to show why I'm picky who I ride with, and picky about who I recover/ allow to recover me...

I've got a KERR, but hardly ever use it (only used it in Morocco really) and certainly wouldn't use it in that situation.

had a nornal rope pull the tow hitch off a toyota once ,shackle and hitch hit the bback door which was covered in steel checker plate .should of seen the dent.will never pull on a standard tow hitch again.
