*&%*$£* electrics!

Last night while driving back from the hospital, I decided to pop over to Westcroft to our local restaurant MacDonald’s for dinner, went through the drive-in and was pleasantly surprised as I reached the second window my meal was ready! As I pull out onto the main road Mr Bling or Mr Chav in his body-kitted light blue sierra with a silly spoiler pulled out in front of me, my reaction was to give him the full blast of the main beam and quick blast of the horn, which his reply was the one finger salute, so another flash of the headlights to say thanks.

With the second flash the radio turned off, and a clicking/buzzing sound came from behind the dash….. not again went through my mind   . Not wanting my meal to get cold I continued home, eat my MacDonald’s Tasty meal. Then venture out on the drive in the rain to see what has happened.

Radio, full beam, clock, internal lights not working, and the clicking/buzzing sound still present from behind the dash (even with the ignition off) First I check the fuse on the Aux circuit, black as the ace of spades. So I replaced, and the clicking/buzzing sound has stopped. Turned the radio on and pop the fuse blows again. But no clicking or buzzing sound anymore. So I guess another earth problem!

Who mention the electrics at the weekend (Ed - Paul can’t remember who but was asked if the electrics on Turtle were ok now - guess not   )

The question is where should I start, earth straps battery/body/engine or gearbox? Is there a relay or something behind the dash that’s gone faulty? My main concern is that while the horn isn’t working its broke the circuit to the alarm, as I’m now unable to arm.

Any help would be grateful.
