Muddy Freelander!

V8MoneyPit:
We won't be bringing the Freebie, I'm afraid. My wife won't let me. The weekend after we bought it, we took it laning because the 110 was clutchless. I was told in no uncertain terms that it was far too scratchy and I wasn't doing that again     That very evening, I was out there with the rubbing compound getting all the scratches out ...... under the thumb, or what?? !!

So I'll just have to take out a mortgage and fill up the 110

Hey all

ive taken my freelander through everything , it works well the only thing that lets it down  ..... the ground clearence

the traction control works a treat and the hill decent works wonders

ive just had a new engine replacement as the head casket went :(  1.8 need i say more

but yeah its done me well

V8MoneyPit:
Washed the Freebie yesterday to get rid of the mud. There was vibration from too much mud on the wheels! Unfortunately, because Sarah hasn't washed it for months, the front wheels are suffering (alloys) from pitting. Took me 30 mins just to vacuum the carpets and another 2.5 hours to wash the outside/underside  :? I think she had forgotten what colour it was  :D

Good for you Steve! There are some of us out there that get them muddy (and scratchy!) now and again.
Apart from a shortfall on ground clearance and the silencer box which hangs down - the Freelander is more capable than most people think.  A recent Land Rover mag was quoted as saying the Freelander was better in snow than a Defender!!!!!
Come over to the West Country some time - we can show you hills to make your heart stop (and test that hill descent) and some fab green lanes - mud and all.

Might just take you upon that next year! It's been ages since I've been SW. Particularly like the Dorset/Devon border area, but the whole region is lovely.

Not sure I'd be allowed to scratch the Freebie though! Been there, done that, been told not to do it again

Would have to fuel up the V8 and be nice to the bank manager
