Don't forget that if you got the price off Paddock's website then there's also VAT to add to that £149 as well as delivery.  :wink:

Although I got some parts from them on wedensday, rear floor, 2 floor cross members and rear body crossmember, total delivery to the Western Isles was only £8.50 and they were despatched that day!!  :D

With all the salt in the sea air up here, they're normal consumables it seems!!  :shock:

Just replaced the strap that goes over the top of the fuel tank as well, cos it wasn't there when I was investigating the 'bang' I got from the rear end caused by the collapsed crossmember!!  :(

The thing is, the body is suffering but the chassis is fine and the mechanicals work great.
I looked at all the options, it's not worth selling it cos even with all the mod's on there it still won't fetch much money due to the rust in the body at the moment. I could strip it, keep the good bits and scrap the rest or spend a few hundred and get the body sorted.
So I went for sorting the body, keep it for a year or so and then take the good bits off and sell it.  :wink:
Well, it's been up here nearly seven years now so you've got to expect a little rust really.  :wink:

Me hats off to ya fella - brassing out a life on the western front line . . . . and us Yorkshire lads and lasses think we get it rough sometimes . . . might be up for a run out your way a bit later in the year :wink:




Mate of mine recently aquired a Discovery that seems to have spent its life by the sea and spray . . . . same game, good everything but a few 'rust spots' here and there that need sorting . . . .  but it's worth fixing in the bigger scheme of things . . . . .



Need to do my boot floor before long so watching with interest . . . .  :wink:
