Sills

Yoshi:
Right, both sides sills need replacing my rangie, i knew they would when i bought it, my question though is thus:

Are jackable sills a replacement for original sills, or are they to be added to the normal sills?

If they are a replacement, wheres cheapest and best place to get em?

Ta muchly :D

clbarclay:
All the after market sills/rock slidders for range rovers i've come accross either bolt ont the existing sill or bolt to the chassis outriggers and are not a replacement for the origional sill.

If you want a heavy duty replacement for the standard sill then people have replaced the standard sill with a length of steel box section the same cross section size as the origional sill box with a 3 to 5 mm wall.

Thought these were for Defenders, as they would be 'bolt on' items not seen them for Rangies. Like said, Usually Rock Sliders on the Rangie that fit under the sills.
Im sure I will be corrected if wrong tho

Guardian.:
rock sliders etc, are not replacement sills, as the man said, best bet, chop old sill out and weld in a box section.

If you decide to renew the sills I have a full set sitting in my garage taking up space. Make me an offer...

And I can confirm what CLBarclay says, you can get rock sliders but they are bolt on items, those who replace wiuth box section fabricate their own.
