I had a sectrary called Kiki once... She was a nightmare! That name sends shivers down my back!
As for a boy! poor kid hey, I think you have to ask yourself, would you want it as a name??
However I think Erik is a great name. Sounds strong, bold!
missroadrage:
I like the name - can only agree with other comments above - the spelling makes it more interesting.
I don't think that many people that are ever really happy with their name but if you had chance to change it would you??
I recently change my surname by deed poll so considered changing first name too but couldn't think of anything I'd prefer.
Good luck with the new baby when he arrives & best wishes Carole x

The established, traditional names make a habit of coming back into fashion every so often - you can't beat them with the passing fads.
A good, strong name - you'll probably find that by the time he gets to school, he will be there with a crowd of Eriks :D
Best wishes for a safe arrival into the world when the time comes!

Clapton and Morcambe by any chance???
The name started out not as a fashion thing but as a joke. We had just had our scan and we were talking names, I was getting a bit peed off cos I was trying to watch telly (CSI Miami) (6 hours later) The end titles came on as Jess was STILL going on about names, so up popped the name Eric. I said we would call him Eric and she hit the roof, no f*****g chance !!!!!!!!
It kinda grew on me, and wound Jess up a bit....... perfect  so it became a joke.... also growing on Jess
Jess mis-carried before 12 week scan and we were devestated
Now Jess is 31 weeks and we are excited, nervous, happy, sh****ng ourselves :? and we BOTH love the name :D :D
We told people we were calling him Erik (Jess spelling choice) and had some strange reactions. My brother said 'what you calling it really??' When he named his son after a bike he was saving for at the time (Zephyr). A girl at work has a girl called Dana and wants a boy......to call it Fox  (yes I'm serious) and really hates 'Erik'
Jess's gran says it is awful- it is German she says- :?
So just wanted a neutral reaction,
HORNESS..... Unusual name  I guessing your female, and kinda hoping your name is not Smith or Brown
Anyone who voted 'poor little b******d'..... please say why  its a need to know thing....
Thanks for all your support
