Am I missing something? What's Vikki's secret box? Is that Vikki's seat box? In which case you can just get another one can't you? If that's all the welding there is then it shouldn't be a problem.

One shot will sort the swivels and if it doesn't then you can fill the deep pits on the chrome with chemical metal. Hardly an ideal solution but it'll get through abn MOT.

Otherwsie they sound like tedious jobs that are DIYable but they do sound time consuming.

I have to also mention that there will be some differences between the Series 2 and 2A parts.  A lot depends on year and what a Previous Owner has fitted to the vehicle, but the earlier Series 2A vehicles (including 2s) had a different swivel arrangement compared to the later 2A and Series 3 swivels.
