keep losing brake pads

<< < (3/4) > >>

Disco-Ron:
I was kinda jopking, hence the rolleyes...... but you never know!!

windowlicker:
no worries its only there is a vauxhall site i used to use a lot and people use the roll eyes as a form of sarcasm so i apologise if i got the wrong end of the stick :)

Skibum346:
Could be jammed pistons on caliper not maintaining grip on the pads as well...

Good luck

windowlicker:
i had a look yesterday and it turned out to be the same rear pad that was missing when i got it but as i said the bro in law replaced them but he didnt check the piston

the piston had about a quarter of an inch champher (sp) ground of the bottom which has been trying to push the pad out the top of the caliper which has mannaged to bend both retaining pins :o

so replaced all and all is well again appart from its spat off another belt :(

cheers for all the advice

Richie_EB4:
This is a very common problem on the rear of the disco's...........ive replaced several calipers because they wear out where the pads sit and then they fall on to the disc/hub and then fall out.......pins stay in just the pad that goes missing........another poor design from LR
