I was thinking more along the lines of tensile testing their 'joy department', a truely scientific test to compare the recovery potential of the 5.0l auto against the 4.6l.
I too found I had some missing wheel nuts on the 23rd, we'd been out laning and I was getting a knocking noise. " missing nuts, 2 very loose, one still tight :?
All 3 other wheels tight, wheels been on for months and it was the one corner you couldn't get to when it was at home, so in Rotherham town centre for 2 minutes and this happens :roll:

I can see an alternative use for a Mondeo hatchback boot catch - the tailgate is extremely long and sloping, containing a back window the size of a football pitch - and when open reaches approx 7 ft in the air - I have to stretch to close it (but haven't been sad enough to get the tape measure out). Given a good pull in a groundwards direction, it reaches quite a speed by the time it closes. With light fingers trapped in the catch, the car will probably still do in excess of 100 mph ... and the beauty of it is that if Light-fingered Larry doesn't learn his lesson first time round, the lesson can quickly and easily be repeated. :twisted:
The back window is too small on the RR and the catch too high up for part 2 of this lesson to be as effective.

thing is you dont know who is nicking them for all you know they are on a landy near you, not necessarily far away, since unless they have very distinguished alloys or tyres then its hard to prove they are yours (unless you are that sure you demand a proof of purchase from the apparent owner.
