200tdi misfire

AbyssDJ:
seems like we've still got one after changing the head gasket... although to me it doesnt seem the same. generally seems to be running smoother, still breathing a bit from filler cap but nothing you wouldnt expect at 175k or so... at least it aint smoking from it like it was doing!

anyway.... how do you actually find a misfire? as in, what do you listen for? in all honesty, i aint got a clue... its the first engine i've ever took notice of, so im kinda used to how its always sounded.

one thing i can tell for definate though, is every now and then it misses bad enough to be felt and splutters a bit as if it wants to stall... usually lower down like 2nd occasionally at the bottom of 3rd. only does it for a split second then seems to be back to normal? anyone got any ideas? as it doesnt seem constant, im reckoning a [!Expletive Deleted!] up injector

other than that i think everything seems ok... bit smokey, but the oil needs changing and apparently synthetic/semi synthetic are no good in tdi's, so gonna change to mineral and see if that helps.

Porny:
Could possibly be a sticking injector....

Just take them out and have a walk into Swadlicote
Swadlicote Diesel are pretty good (have used them in the past) and to have the injectors checked shouldn't be more than about £5 each.

Or it could be a fault with the injector pump.... or another fueling issue   :(

extreme90:
or its getting air in cos matt never changed the copper washers when he had the injectors out
if fuels coming out then air can get in
dan

if that was the case it would chooch when its running

AbyssDJ:
i reckon its the injectors... although mattys gonna get some copper rings anyway. it aint half wierd though.
