bombx3:
Bleeding steering box on a def 90 200tdi ,do you have the engine running and is there any best way to do it .thanx Ray

Xtremeteam:
get a lenght of hose that goe over the bleed npple on the steering box, stick that into the reservoir for the PAS & start the engine, crack open the bleed nipple letting the pas fluid flow round back into the reservoir,go gently side to side a small bit & then tighten the nipple n job done

bombx3:
thanks for that ,the adjusting nut came loose on the steering box and fluid came out so i presume its drawn in air

Range Rover Blues:
Actually unlikely as the only part of the sytem in vacuum is the feed to the pump.  Worth bleeding though to be sure.

bombx3:
umm no better, ,,,,,,ever since they tightened up the steering adjuster up for mot my steering has gone stiff and getting a lot worse each day
