Fuddy as muck:
After waiting for 3 months to get the Landy back, after having some welding and a new starter motor fitted. Took the Landy out brought it home then tried to start it again to pop to the shops annnnnd?
Wont start  The engine try's to turn and theres a clicking noise  Sounds like the starter again to me. Does this sound like a good dianose or could it be something else? Starting to get really [!Expletive Deleted!] off now. I might just sell it with its full years MOT and buy something old and Japanese

muddy_90:
if u get a jump lead and put on end on to the the lifting eye on the engine then put the other end on to the chassis and if it starts up then u've got and earth problem, or if its the same might need a new battery

Rich_P:
Tap the starter motor a few times with the end of a hammer.  Then attempt again.  The clicking is most likely the starter solenoid.

mark.yellow.series.3:
clicking noise is definatly the voltage at the starter is to low.
this can be caused by, a bad earth, poor cables ( the big fat cables), or the battery and/or charging system.

yeah what he said!

but if you've only just got it back it might be a low voltage on the battery it self?
