Uprated series alternator?????

<< < (3/3)

Range Rover Blues:
I think the previous owner had a winch and bumper that he kept, the front bumper is a home made affair in very very thick steel.  I have extra lights, compressor and electric seats, twin Kenlowes etc so I like the big alternaotr.  I also have a removable winch and twin batteries.

Dave B:
For info.

Mark 1 F'ester alternators are a straight fit to a series, and 70A as they had that "Huge" heated rear screen.

At most, all you need is to push the spacer tube through one of the leg's a bit.  The advantage of using them, is the wiring and connector is identical to the Series 3 part.  I know, as I've changed several like that over the years.

The bearings are easy to replace (with sealed units) but the brush's are rare, so if you find one, check them before anything else.

No doubt there are 100's of others that will do.

Hi

Just got a 65 amp off e bay used but tidy off a 110 for £29 posted so they're out there

Regards

That sounds like a right bargain! My 70 amp can still charge the battery when idle'ing with all lights on full beam and a monsterous sound system blarring, and just about handles it when the kenlowe fan is on aswell!
