Mine was about 2" above the door mirrors.   :shock:  The top of the spare tyre (Disco) was under too.  But that was with a snorkel, obviously.  Glad I went to the effort of sealing all the air hose joints with silicon sealant.

Interesting but I'm not sure I would be keen to do it again intentionally.
