Like it, best thing to do with a JEEP.
He might have done better with a 'SEEP' (the amphibious version) or a Amphicar.

The last vehicle I saw in that state was a Series 3 that had been dragged in from the middle of Morecambe Bay.
The owner had attempted a solo-journey across the Byway (quite an appropriate acronym; BOAT) a couple of weeks prior to the hauling in, and got stuck crossing the River Kent.

Well you can guess the rest......get out, swear a lot, run/swim, try and explain it to the insurance company :lol:

Oh dear.  I bet you could smell the fear.  Did they wade it first?  Did they hell.

I have to boast that I had the Disco in deeper, but that was a nice still lake, not a river.  Didn't miss a beat.

Fantastic movie! Never underestimate the force of flowing water. I've almost been a submarine commander myself, had water up to my door handles (48" high) crossing a ford in Berkshire after heavy rain. I honestly, didn't think I was going to get out of it - no snorkel either!

Someone was telling me about a river crossing in Alaska that one of their group had to kayak across first with a winch cable with every other one following spooled out attached to the one in front. One of the smaller tyred (less than 35") Jeeps got flooded just like in the movie. They managed to pull it out but had to leave it on the bank when the bears turned up. They returned later that day, removed the plugs, changed it's oil and filter and drove it for the rest of the trail.
