'Whoo-Hoo!!!'
« on: December 14, 2006, 14:54:32 »
After 14months I finally received my cheque from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board in the post yesterday :D

Some of you may remember that I had my nose broken  in October 2005 by a patient (ie; a junkie-scrote)

At the time I wasn't bothered about trying to claim, as I saw it as perpetuating the 'Ambulance Chasing' culture.

But as was put to me on here (by 'Landyman Ash'?) & by a couple of the Sisters
"You don't go to work to be assaulted, especially by the very people you're trying to help!!"

So, it was banked on the way home.

It was more than I expected (as I'd had to be persuaded to apply), but doubtless you'd get far more if you tripped over a paving stone - in which case, you ought to look where you're walking  (as most sensible people would admit is the case )

So, the question is, what do I buy??

a packet of chocolate digestive biscuits and some posh tea to dunk em in and some of Rangie womans home made Mince pies. Does that fill the budget or do you have some pennies left over for some cream to go with the mince pies?

Not that I know how much you got of course, but since it is a rather unexpected source of income, why don't you go out and buy yourself something really jolly nice and unjustifiable,  considering your plethora of posts of the countryside on your little outings why not a really good camera or something ?

the way I see it, I know from bitter experience that the workers in the NHS are downtrodden and unrewarded, you should spoil yourself, you don't often get the chance...

take you're partner or family away for a break.. even if its just for a night, they supported you when it happened, so treat yourselves and spend some quality time together...
you'll feel good for doing it, and the time you spend together will be worth more in the long run than a new Tomtom or winch.

if you've got kids of the right age, Disneyland paris is good, if theres just the two of you, go to Rome, Sorrento or Venice.

I told SWMBO that it had arrived & after a brief moment of elation when I thought she'd say it was mine to do with what I wanted, I was informed that;
"There, that's next terms School fees paid for"[/b]

And I'd earmarked it for a SouthDown tankguard/removeable drop-plate, wheel-carrier, set of 5 decent M/Ts to store away in the garage, USB turn-table, new digital SLR, plus other items

T'is not to be

Still there's always the chance it could happen again on Friday, as everyone parties after finishing work, & we get the casualties
