Brakes don't seem to be all there..!
Landy90IOM:
Evening all, been a while since I was on here, but i'm in need of the famous mud clubber advice!
Lately when in Landy i've noticed the brakes being a bit spongy on the first press, but then seem to be fine again on the second. Thought no more of it until once when braking i felt a slight judder through the pedel, pretty much like abs, but not as harsh. (it doesnt have abs before anyone suggests it!!)
I've tried the obvious solutions first such as looking for leaks, which there doesnt seem to be any of, though the fluid has gone down a mm or so, but that could just be through wear. The vacuum pipes seem in good condition, and tested the pump by having the pedal pressed when starting the engine. Even tried lamping on the brakes a few times, and everything seems to work and it skids to a halt in a straight line (well... straight enough for a landy on MT's! )
Only other thing ive noticed is when ive come to a standstill, I've literally stood on the pedal as hard as possible and where i would expect it to stop halfwayish when the pressure has built up, it seems to ever so slightly keep going, as if something is going somewhere...
Sorry for the long post, but hope someone could be of help as you usually are!

We tried allsorts as my 90 did this, in the end it was the front wheel bearings had so much wear in them it was pushing the pads back so it needed a double press if you hadnt braked for a while to get them working lol.
TDi90:
same thing happend in mine!! help!!!!
Landy90IOM:
not sure if it will be the wheel bearings, as i've not long had them all changed, but i'll go and give them a wiggle if we get a dry night!
TDi90:
my wheel bearings are fine, (bar one) would that be it? surely not because of one small wheel bearing?
