Check Engine light

HELP!!!!!!

The check engine light keeps coming on on my 1996 300tdi auto.  It seems to happen when my foot is resting on the throttle.

Any ideas anyone?  

Also, does anyone in the vacinity of West Berkshire have testbook that I could connect up to it as I object STRONGLY to paying Lancaster Land Rover £50 for 2 minutes work!!!!!!!!!

had this on mine, does it also loose rev's and go slugish? found it was a bad earth hope this helps  :)

that's exactly what happens.  Where was the bad earth please?

just recheck all earth straps spade conectors ect..
