Engine number help

Hi

I phoned the dvla today and told them and they aint to bothered about it, they just said send a note saying new engine has no numbers and the log book will come back saying engine number not known.

which is good news as its now on my drive.

the spec is as follows

Brand new chassis
300tdi and r380 gear box (clocks come with it stating 71k miles)
new fuel tank
rear axle has discs
rear body off a td5
just been sprayed coniston green
has twin springs on the back, a small one inside the large one

The owner did say that the parts came from stolen recovered cars and cars that could not be put back on the road so porny your theory fits the bill.

im dead pleased with it.
