I might have a pop later if I can summon up the willpower. Already had 'Climate Killer' pasted to The Rabbit, which untill I realised the [!Expletive Deleted!] glued it on I thought was finny (Parked next to a V12 jag at the time)
I shall merely point out that shoudl I find one of these on my cars or anyone I know they will be prosecuted for just about anything I can find, starting with criminal damage and littering.

Barnhill4x4 see how thats the kind of press we need, showing that we do care about the lanes, and that we are trying to deal with the minority of users who are abusing them.

It pains me to say it, but the greenies have identified a soft target. The 4x4 fraternity is small (relatively). Move in the same (or similar) circles, not including the people who drive 4x4's as status symbols or Bling! Most people will not or have not experienced 4x4's on or off road and have no comprehension of the arguament. In the currant climate these fence sitters will inevitably be drawn to the anti side unless positive press coverage can be utilsed to the wider issue.
I am not a greenie (except after a skin full and a dodgy curry), but I see the arguament for "gas guzzling" vehicles.
I still cannot understand, other than for the reasons stated above, where the hostility to a minority comes from.
I don't know, but maybe someone can enlighten me!
These people are playing a political game, nothing more.

Indeed, the problem is they cant be seen to be picking on people carriers as they are predominantly family vehicles, and lets face it, what anti movement has actually worked by alienating families.
But its not just people carriers. Think about it, look at an old vehicle from say around 1999. Shall we say for example a bog standard 1.6 astra estate (nice family car for the sake of argument), what mpg does it do compared to a diesel discovery thats 10 years older?
This is just a "lets have an argument we can win" type thing. We all know its a minority of Ramblers that dislike us, unfortunately its the hierachy of the RA thats the minority. I have met ramblers before who have been more than nice, even held gates open and stopped and had a natter. The majority believe everyone should have access to the country side, not just the able bodied.
Has anyone thought about taking the RA to court over their propaganda? Surely them saying that they dont want 4x4's in the countryside has some form of anti disabled slurr? We all know that for some people, me included, the only way into the countryside is in a 4x4 on a green lane?

I might ask them for some aof their parking tickets and stick them on everything BUT a 4x4. Given that the one I've been driving all day is 18b years old I have avoided the massive polution that creating a new people carrier would cause, I run it on LPG which is a by product (read WASTE) of refining the fuel for their people carriers, these people are ********s, they won't let a seilly thing like the truth get in the way of their prejudice. Time to start sticking their **** on a few jumbo jets I say.
