Bush Tucker Man:
Did anyone see this the other night? (it was on late though; 23:30-ish)

It was all sorts of stars discussing a box of records that the great man kept under his desk.
Sheila (his wife) & Tom (son) kindly added their contributions

Some really esoteric items in there, like; Bill Oddy doing 'On Ilkley Moor...'

The Fall featured, as to be expected. Marc Riley (the 'Boy Lard') was one of the interview-ees

Peel & 'the Pigs' wedding was shown, with a young(ish) Rod Stewart as a guest, plus what looked like a young Terry Wogan :shock:

The famous footage of him on stage with Rod Stewart (supposedly) playing the Mandolin was also shown

Of course, the number one (& last featured single) was still his all time favourite (which was played at his funeral)

Think it had been on before-? if so, I'll have a look thru the pile of vid's and watch it properly. Seem to remember some bits with the white Stripes and a few others.

I thought it was a new programme, but I guess if you remember The White Stripes featuring (as they did) it has been on before.

If anyone wants to listen to the core of the music he loved listen to "right time, wrong speed" as a starter.

I'll admit to not listening anymore once he started with the Dub-Reggae & rap.
Although it wasn't exactly my genre of choice, I liked him up to the time of playing artists like; Sisters Of Mercy, Theatre Of Hate, Cocteau Twins, The Men They Couldn't Hang, We've Got A Fuzzbox, etc.....

Could never understand his fascination with The Fall (although 'the Boy Lard' is great when paired with 'Our Kid' on the radio)
