Can you recommend a high lift jack

(1/6) > >>

redneck:
I'm looking to get a high lift jack and need advice please.
I want it for jacking the vehicle as well as a recovery aid instead of a winch if i get stuck (obviously not as good as a winch but i'm on a tight budget at the moment)
What should I look for when buying one   :?  any tips  :?:

i have the cheap 'farm jack' and i think its great it cost me £30, but others iam sure will recomend there own favourate.

There is only one Hi-Lift as its a brand name. I have a Jackall, same sort of thing. Go for what ever one you like, but I have heard of a lot of the "farm jack" cheep ones from ebay bending to easley.

Jackall are Canadian I think, they are the ones that get copied a lot.  I have a cheapo copy and the standard (the long bit) is so soft the holes are rounded at the edge.

Buy a hi-lift, it's a safety item so don't skimp.  The accessories are not interchangeable with other brands but you get far more choice.  Bumper lift, wheel lift, Defender adapter and of course winch kit, for which you need 6m of 10mm chain (that's heavy).  I've used on and it does the job, always carry it as a spare even now I have an electric.
