terrano 2 diagnostic code

Hi,

I am a total dunce when it comes to certain things with cars, so apologise if this question seems daft!

A lady friend of mine has a terrano 2.7tdi. It has started cutting out for no apparent reason. This can be when she is driving or waiting at a junction. as you can imagine it is dangerous. After a few moments the car starts normally. she tells me she has a plug in diagnostic device which returns a reading of code 18.

Does anyone know what this code means and would it be related to the engine stopping?

I've not actually come across anyone using a diagnostic ocde before on one of these vehicles, can i suggest trying www.nissan4x4ownersclub.co.uk as some of the members there are well versed in Nissan mechanics.
