Range Rover Blues:
If 1400 is your budget I'd say go for the better 200 TDi and keep a little in reserve for the un-obvious but inevitable repairs.

I know where there is a good one well within your budget but you aren't local to me.

Also think about RRC, though the diesel would be the VM or a retro fit but they are as good if not better off road due to the lower C of G.

2 doors lowers the weight though if you are planning lots of bolt-ons and they are generally cheaper.

I dont mind travelling./

I done 300 miles to get this Rangie :)

As for the hilux i got rid of one to get this as it had no power and was quite uncomfortable......

I would love to keep my rangie its amazing off road and looks the part but its just drinking way too much......

More Power- 3.0L TD Hilux Surf/4Runner then?

Similar class of car to the 300Tdi Disco. Loads of upgrade/modification potential (very popular in the US 100,000+ sold each year) so loads of modification stuff is available.

You might struggle to get one for £1400 though.....

simon15:
Yeah doubt i would be able to pick up a surf for what i can afford,

But you never know one may pop up at some point.

gtomo2:
How about looking at it another way. £1400 will get you a good diesel engine and a garage to fit it for you.
