Steering damper relocation
SnakeLogic:
Anybody have one of these steering damper relocation kits? Several makes available, all the way from the fairly basic Wizardbilt to the super slick Equipe. Any personal experience? Recommendations?
Also, why does Land Rover put the steering damper in such a vulnerable location to begin with?
Guardian.:
make sure you have seen what u r getting before parting with your money as the on i have seen costalot and is basically a bent bit off 3mm plate for a bracket and a couple of exhaustbrackets, trash and a rip off, cannot remember whos it was, just beware!
Budgie:
Another option is a guard that goes round the trackrod and the damper, Scorpion Racing make one and I'm sure the are others around.
Range Rover Blues:
I've done it to mine, I used the steering guard as a bracket (though it can limit travel a bit) and fitted a Defender drag link and damper, you have to be very careful using a RRC damper ahead of the axle as the front drag link moves further and the damper is only just long enough without any articulation.
Anyway, I've done it and I'm thinking of undoing it, the front D.S wheel flaps a little sometimes on roundabouts and suchlike. The best I've had it handle was with an old RRC damper on as well

Do you ever not put other people down regarding the products they sell?
 Do you do a damper relocation kit?
