<< < (2/3) > >>

murph:
Lets hope a few people take notice of it,,  we still see far to many deaths on the roads...

I couldn't do what Pete had to do,, people like giving the cops a hard time but this a job most poeple would avoid.

Well people I must confess I'm a serving Officer with Lincolnshire Police and I agree there are some jobs I hate but you just have to do.

Talking of Mobile phones let me tell you a story....

I was walking back to the nik, where I work and I saw a large silver Jag, this car came flying down the high street so it caught my eye, as it got closer I saw the driver holding a Mobile phone to his ear, so I stopped the car to have "words" I was shocked to see the driver only had one arm! The good one holding the phone to his ear!
He told me he could steer with his knees just fine! But what about your brakes sir?

It cost him big time....

Just remember the maximum sentence for driving while on the phone is...

10 years in prison... Death by dangerous driving! Its not a £30 fine always.

Skibum346:
Missed the bulk oif it as MOther chose to call just as it was starting!  :x

Saw enough to be impressed, not just your bad driving fest that somne of the other shows are. Nice to see the stories followed up and the implications for all involved highlighted.

My sister is an FLO up north and I don't know how she does it.

The most shocking for me was the tone of voiice of the truck driver when discussing whther or how long he'd been using his phone. Sounded like he thought he'd bent a bumper rather than killed!

Bush Tucker Man:
I'm glad to see that people share the same views as me.

Here's a couple of links to give the story behind the incident (I did a search on her name)
BBC
Daily Mail

Regarding the programme, I'm a bit surprised that the credits didn't give a 'ThankYou' to the girls family for allowing their intrusion

--- End quote ---

When I bought the 110, I fitted a hands-free kit, but as far as I can recall I've never dialled out whilst driving & only answered very briefly.
(prior to that it was either switched off, passenger answered it, or simply ignored if it rang)

SWMBO has a hands-free kit in the 'works van', but spends a lot of time on it dealing with quite technical issues.
Quite frankly, I'm worried everytime she goes off on the motorways as I know she'll be taking calls.
