--- Quote from: "smo" ---265/75-16 in BFG AT's would be about as big as you can go :) (I know they fit, i run same size BFG-MT's)

750's or 235/85/16 is the largest tyre LR fit as standard

He didnt ask that though - he said what the biggest i can fit without having to lift or do mods - a direct replacement for the 235/85 is 265/75 and is very common, michelin actually list it as an official alternative under defender 90!

but he doest state what tyres he currently has so the 235;s are the tallest tyres you can fit as standard,

or the 265s if u want to go wide but just a smidgen shorter in height

smo:
I've attached an image below with comparison data for 235/85 and 265/75 - youll see the difference is 0.2%, a whapping 1 revolution over 1 mile (636 vs. 637) so i'd say its pretty negligable :)

Thanks again RedlineMike and smo, i seem to have started quite a debate!!

Im not quite sure of the dimension labelling for tyres.  Am i right in thinking that the 75 is the measure of the width of the tread and the 275 the overall height.

One other thing, i have the 7x16 trac edges fitted at the moment and on full lock they do rub slightly if fit a larger tyre like the 265/75 am i going to have to have the same problem.

Cheers,
James
