Panhard rod bushes

(1/2) > >>

Lord Shagg-Pyle:
Mine are knacked, which could explain the way that the car likes to wander all over the road, thus giving the impression that the driver is under the affluence of incahol.
Has anyone changed these?
Do they need to be pushed out, or can they be cut or burnt out?
Cheers.

davidlandy:
they are amongst the easiest to do - a small amount of heat then mine pushed out in a vice then i replaced them with polybushes.

when u lift waggle the steering can you see the axle/body move sideways a bit?

when you replace the bushes I would be tempted to fit something other than polybushes - I have been thru loads of them and dont rate them to be honest.  some others onhere may advise you on what else is available.

freeagent:
i replaced mine with genuine parts ones, Paddocks have started doing them, and they're not that much more expensive than the rubbish Britpart ones.

make sure you change the bolts aswell, as the bolt shaft wears, allowing the bush to move on the bolt, the bolts, nuts and bushes were less than a tenner all in, from what i can remember.

i used a hydraulic press to do mine, (the farmer next door to my dad has one) but you could do it with a vice, go easy with the heat though.

hope this helps. :)

Lord Shagg-Pyle:
Time for a bit of egg on the face.
Bushes and bolts fine, but had come loose. Nicely tightened up and no more wandering.

Range Rover Blues:
I've polybushed mine, they cost about £4 an end so it's cheaper than an oil change, not that I noticed any wear in them last time.
