Hmm, looks a litlle low. Is there no risk of that getting really smacked one and pushed back into the arm. Maybe a detachable guard uder it?

Looks good though. Should work for a Vit too as its just void there.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

you should seriously consider where the plug in for your remote sits - when u are stuck you may not be able to get to them

4500lb is a bit light! As you'll be using it to pull landrovers out of a sticky situation that they always get themselves into! :)

Davidlandy,
Everyone get stuck. including Landrovers, It's the not me attitude that will mean more pulling when you do! :D and you know that a jimny will be allowed to go out with the lads and one off them will need pulling

even with a 12000 lb winch on a jimny unless its tethered its unlikely to be able to pull a LR out of anything - it will just probably drag the jimny to the trouble spot

as for LRs getting stuck - they do sometimes

thanks keith but you are all correct it could not pull a landrover out but you all say there the best 4x4 by far so should not have to.

The bumper is a KAP item which I modified so I could mount the winch behind it. Its a 9000lb cheapo winch, mounted on a plate which in turn is mounted at the rear on the chassis cross member and at the front on a new cross member welded in place. The electrics are mounted under the bonnet. Yes Jimny has a 2" lift.

I had to fit a steering damper and it still wanders a bit, would benefit from a caster correction kit? but funds won't allow at moment.
