Somebody on alt.fan.landrover posted a message about their Range Rover... it got to 099999, started to roll over, and promptly broke.  Why doesn't this surprise me?

Range Rover Blues:
They're no fun 'till they're this old though.  My sister and I had a bit of rivalry going a while back, her 1988 Fiesta 950 and My 1993 Cavalier 1.7LSD both hit 180,000 and the Fiesta's engine has never been touched other than servicing.  I think this means I can vouch for Slick 50 and regular oil changing.

davidlandy:
I had a 1987 escort 1.3L estate company car - got it second hand but when I finished with it in 1991 it had 161000 on it !    it was serviced regular and still going strong - good little engines those old ford 'kent' engines.

Bush Tucker Man:
I know someone who works at our Hospital who also drives a Taxi (well, he's one of the firms owners as well)
He sold on a 'P' Astra TD estate (the Izuzu engined version) with 430,000 miles at 6years old that had nothing other than regular servicing & 'wear & tear' items replaced
