What went wrong this week..
Cassillis:
Nothing so far, but I’m sure it will  The weekend however was different. The pig has had a clattering clutch ever since I got her. Worn clutch arm was the diagnosis. After a horrendous 4 hour drive through London the other day I decided, that’s it get it sorted! Whilst the engine was out I decided to replace the radiator and change the timing belt.
Finished work at 3pm on the Friday, took her to the workshop and stripped the front out removed all the ancillaries in anticipation of lifting the engine out on Saturday. Then it all started to go wrong. Because I was without transport my mechanic friend, chauffer and all round good egg dropped me at the pub at 8 o'clock. Big mistake :!: I had had a bloody awful week etc etc and of course I drank far too much, so much so I was as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike on Saturday
Luckily there was another helping pair of hands at the workshop as all I could do was crawl into a corner and hope I would die, god I felt rough.
Engine out clutch changed (the arm was punched through as expected) along with the timing belt and tensioners engine back in.
Sunday now, no need to rush jobs like these. Everything connected, new rad in and front end replaced with only one washer left over, a miracle :!:
Test drive goes fine then she overheats in traffic. Aha :!: forgot to fill the thermostat housing as well when replacing the coolant so the thermostat didn’t know when to open
Refill and ran her with the heater on at 1500rpm. Hooray all correct, no leaks, running cool, heater works. Clutch is smooth as a baby’s bottom and she is running sweet as a nut. Fantastic :!:
Get in on Monday to go to work 20 yards down the road the wing mirror falls off...............
Landies, I love em
