Diesel leak

(1/1)

Leigh:
My 110 has developed a slow leak. For about 5 mins after stopping and turning the engine of there is a slow drip from the fuel tank area. Could this be a fuel return pipe and is it an easy job to do? Just running the tank down before I start

Thanks in advance

hobbit:
It depends on the pipe connections, if they are rubber  hoses with clips on, no probs

It may be worth while cleaning the area aroudn the tank/sender unit to check for a leak from a seal too

If you have a piece of plastic pipe that has perished/split or chafed, you can cut out the bad bit and replace with a section of rubber fuel hose

AbyssDJ:
check the sender seal too

Leigh:
Thanks guys, as soon as the tank is empty I'll take a look and probably have a new seal and hose ready.
Are there any surprises I should know about lowering the tank? Is it simply a case of unbolting and lowering or are there other things needed disconnecting?

Cheers
