Steering drop arm

(1/2) > >>

Sharpshooter:
Does anyone know if all defender/rangerover drop arms are re-furbishable? Mines shot, and i have a kit, but without taking it off, i would like to know. It is an early 3 bolt rangie box.

Cheers. :)

V8MoneyPit:
The ball joint is replaceable on all of them, but if the splines gone, buy a new one.

Only £26.00 + VAT from Paddocks.

Sharpshooter:
No, its definately the ball joint. :)

Just wanted to make sure before i rip it off. :)

Have had the ball joint for months, but just keep putting it off. I have about an eighth of a turn play in the wheel now. :(

Range Rover Blues:
:o  OOOhh, not nice.

You can change the balljoint wihtou removing the drop arm, but it's fiddly.  Remeber, Dremel grinds

I use a G clamp with 2 sockets, one a deep socket.

V8MoneyPit:
I support a socket on a small jack under the arm to compress the spring to remove the circlip.
