why is it people take out the 2.5 diesel landy engine and replace it with the 200 disco 2.5 ????what parts are swapped during this process..i have a disco that may become a donor vehicle

ill explain if dew manages to keep his hole shut for 5 min....

basically the engine fits staright in the hole using the original defender mounts, drop it in minus the exhaust n hoses etc

now you can either chop n turn the original down pipe or you can buy a stevepaerker one,now cos im no that flush with notage i made my own, took 4 nights but i made it myself, the other things thats interesting/fun is the hoses,

used a standard top hose & had to extend the intercooler hoses,to get onto the outlet of the turbo i adjusted the innerwing to give more room, now you can do that or cut a section out or turn the outlet of the turbo round & tug weld a new bracket on for the actuator..

rest of the pipes you need to make up as you go along,i used the original air box mointed on the inner wing (can supply pics if needed) & just piped it with snorkel piping

mudplugger01:
well i used disco lt77 bellhousing on long stick lt77 defenger box  and my engine sits 6 inches further forward so minimal exhaust mods required ,,,(hours work ).doddle to change starter  all good
