turtle:
It would appear that I have a problem with the ACE on my SII Disco, the light on the dash comes on (Picture of car with arrows pointing either side) and bings at me.

I have been advised to check the fluid levels which on checking seem a little low but nothing to worry about, anyways I have topped these up, and the light has no gone out.

But this afternoon the light has re-appeared and checking the ACE fluids the bottle is now empty, I've checked around the car but can't find any puddles, has anyone else had this problem or know what might be the issue.

bigfatsi:
I just had exactly the same problem. On mine the pipes at the rear had corroded and were leaking. Cost me £405 to replace them both as apparently you need Test Book to bleed/charge the system. Looks weird when they test it as your car leans one way then the other whilst stood still!

Apparently it is quite dangerous to drive without the ACE working - Don't know why - so it's best looked at quickly. Besides, if the pump/controller etc go it's gonna be big big bucks. Sorry.

Hope this helps!

Simon

I have got the car booked in witn Joe Edwards frist thing Monday morning, he said it should be ok to drive as long as I keep the fluids topped up haven't got much of a journey this weekend, only to Brighton and back  :?

P.S Hi Ed its been a while  :?

Jimbo:
Phil,

There was an official recall on earlier ACE equipped Discos - to replace the rear ACE pipes. Might be worth checking with a stealer to see if yours has been done.

Jim
