Td5 brake probs

(1/3) > >>

Jimbo:
With the engine running, if I push on the brake pedal it very slowly goes to the floor  :( , have had all the pads/calipers and pipes/hoses checked, no leaks, no bulging hoses - must be the master cylinder, yes ?

There's no leaks around the m/c, but we're guessing that the seals are letting fluid past, and hence the loss of pedal pressure.

Just wanted to check that there's nothing else it could be, before I order the new m/c (£224 + the dreaded from LR   )

imspanners:
It could be the valves in the ABS unit!

Noooooooooo - that thing is a freaking fortune    (but I do happen to have a 'spare' one in stock........... 8) )

barmiebrumie:
Had that happen on our td5, changed the servo & master & all was well,

John.

Jimbo:
Just ordered a new m/c from Paddocks - £126 + VAT (compared to £224 +vat from LR), phoned Paddocks to check what make the m/c was, and the nice lady on the phone says "oh, we order those in direct from LR" !!!!

So seeing as swmbo was expecting a bill in the region of £250, I spent the rest on bits for the 110......
