rev gauge fixes

(1/1)

landroverkeith:
Me dads disco is having a few issues with the rev gauge as in it makes its mind up when it works and when it does its not working with the engine speed.

is this sumthing i could do with me spanners and sticky back plastic? or should i just tell him not to be so tight and pay to get it fixed lol

thanks for any help in advance keith

its a 3 door 300 tdi btw

Budgie:
Common problem this one.

On the back of the alternator there is a White/Black wire that has a female spade connector on it. This is most likely loose/dirty.
The best thing to do is put a new spade connector on it and have the problem sorted once & for all.
If you try to tighten the original connector then it will fail again in a month or so.

landroverkeith:
:) thanks budgie ill get out onto that at weekend when i go back to me dads    make me look all clever when i fix it lol
