Well having a look around the disco tonight ready for the MOT and well


It needs a lot of work so I am going the whole hog the plan is to sorn it and do the work

Repairing the Rust  :shock:

I have to replace the front axle  :shock:

so whilst the axle is off I may as well do a 40mm body lift and a 2" suspension lift

I am happy doing the suspension but !!!!!! the body lift it looks faily easy

Is it??????

wasn't too bad ,when i did my rangie.i just gave myself more work by removing petrol tank and suspending it from the floor instead of staying vunerable between the chassis rails

There are other posts about this, but it is quite straight forward.

I found it easier to do all 10 points at the same time, instead of doing one side at a time (easier to get bolts in due to body being square). If you do a side at a time, more ag.

Don't forget that you need to carryout some mods to parts fitted to body and connected to engine, etc. i.e. radiator, fuel filler pipe, brake hose mountings, steering pump res, steering shaft (maybe).

Can I lift the tank the same as body (I have to remove it to do the boot floor) Ie put spacers on the strap bolts?????

I have been told 40mm is all you can go without extending the steering shaft
