quads .. Whats the opinion ?

Axle:
I know robbie mentoed this a while back but thought i might do it again . Any  one have one? what are they like  .  

And the big question scambler v quad which would be better over the rough stuff

I don't think you can compare the two. MotoX would beat a quad hands down.
Different beast for different jobs.

yeah on flat ground . but what about heavy muck . Thats kinda hard all right .
 the motox are much easier to turn anyway .

I'd have thought that both bikes would be stopped by the same thing in Mud. The front wheel getting bogged down and slowing both down. Normally the MotoX would be moving quicker so get further before getting stuck as well as easier to get going again.
You've got to remember that a MotoX will go up virtually anything  you throw at it. I've done stuff that I would never try in a 4X4. It usually involved lots of effort to get the bike over the top with the bike in mid air.

Axle:
Now that you put it that way with the chuck  ability of the motox . Id agree withyou that they would go father . a quad would be heavier so harder to get it up a hill .
