P.A.S. possible pump gone ???
barmiebrumie:
Hi all me again, now my clutch is all up & running just like a new one,
(thanks to the west mid's crew )
Whilst driving along the steering become's very stiff & ridged & will then go normal for a couple of second's  ,
I am assuming it's the pump on it's way out :?: , plenty of fluid in the resevoir & no apparent leek's from the pump :? ,
Thank's in advance, John.

Had that exact same problem, sort of locked up you give it a couple of nudges and you get power assistance back.
I changed the pump, no different, I changed the steering damper no different. Turned out it was the steering box.

Or could it be the knuckles in the steering column. Try dousing them in 3 in 1 oil for a week and see if that helps. I had/have a similar problem and doing this seems to have done the trick.
The right way to do it is to take the column apart and work the joints to get the oil in but I couldn't face it!
