scorpio:
A few weeks back would that have been the shutdown period when everyone goes on long holidays and drives a lot more than normal or am I being cynical

Range Rover Blues:
Yeah, I got that impression, being on holiday and all.  Luckily we found a LPG station at 40p/litre as even that was a rip-off, 48p/litre on the A38, just because the stations are so scarce.

Nick666:
Thing is, everyone says 'ooh its cheap again' but it wasn't THAT long ago it was 56p a litre for unleaded (I'm talking 12 years). :(

Ah well.

I remember £1.00 a gallon & it seemed expensive even then.

When I got my first car it was about 39p/litre

Digressing (as I do  )
Comparatively speaking though, it's cheap.

After all, think how much that beer/lager stuff that people drink costs??

I just searched & got this site atrandon

It says Yorkshire = £1.88 a pint, that's £15.04 a gallon
London is listed at £3.00/pint, ie; £24.00/gallon

So for what is basically water & a few plants, that doesn't do your wallet, kidneys, liver, etc.... any good, people seem happy to pay that price & complain about the cost of fuel

And as for the cost of bottled water as well, the mind boggles

Yes........ I am tee-total, so the cost doesn't bother me
(just try to put fuel into perspective & also play 'Devils Advocate', not hat I like paying 90-odd pence/litre either)
