Wheelie

(1/7) > >>

Manicminer:
I was coming home this evening through Welshpool and onto the A490 towards Llanfyllin. At one point the road has a straight which is nearly 2/3 of a mile long. I came onto one end of the straight and a motorbike was on the other end. All of a sudden he pulled a wheelie and kept it going for the full length of the straight and the engine was screaming when he passed me.

paul_humphreys:
Theres a few people like that up that way.

As a biker(well, not at the mo, so currently ex biker I guess) I can vouch for the fact that nothing Ive ever done on the road or off road comes close to doin wheelies on a big bike.
To be fair, Im not very good at it, but get it up on the gas and nail it thru for as long as you can/dare  feels like nothing else. Especially the little squeal as the front tyre hits the road and has to catch up with the rest of the bike. haha

I know its not entirely legal, but its such good fun

Manicminer:
The lane he was in was clear, but there were a few cars going in the opposite direction along with me and he must have been doing close to 90mph when he passed. The bloke knew what he was doing as he was changing gears and everything whilst in the air and looked like he could go on all day. The bike was nearly vertical the whole time and not just a couple of feet off the ground.

bezzabsa:
as a biker i cannot condone this sort of act, its just that sort of thing that gives 'cage' drivers something else to moan about.
when done correctly - ie on privat etrack / roads then they can be awesome but on the public roads they are just plain moronic
