What is the ultimate gearbox tcase combo that will fit into an early rangie?

what do you want? acceleration or top end? as i am running in a rangie a 5speed box, through a transferbox off of a 3speed auto, and then highspeed diffs which works very well, but im also running a 3.5 nissan tdi which takes it 2 a v reasonably 110/120 on private roads of course!

Range Rover Blues:
Strength, the 4 speeder is the best and fits the floor
Economy you want the extra gear.

Hunt round for a 4 speed and overdrive perhaps
