:D I can remember reading about that when they built it they had to tilt the cab then push it into tick ford then drop the cab down because it wouldn't fit through the door!! :lol:  :lol:

The Leyland was probobly the finest truck on the road, and most of thats been drained though into the DAFs. In my dads line of work they really take a real beating and it's only the DAFs that stand it for any length of time and keep coming back for more.

Hate to disagree but you dont see a lot of A reg dafs still on the road but lots of erf's still going strong :wink:

You do see a lot of old Leylands though, especially in this area.

It's only since DAFTLeyland was formed that the quality went up.

You can providing the unit is not over 7.5 tonne, you have to change the plate and tax though and get it re-registered/altered to a rigid otherwise you need a class 2 to drive one without a trailer.

We have an old ERF shunter at work, it has the Rolls Royce 265L engine in, it starts up every day without fail and only ran out of tax last year!!
