Migraines?

If the headaches are stress related, then sort out the cause of the stress, either by fixing it, or not letting it get to you.

I often get headaches from spending a lot of time sat at a keyboard, and being under pressure to get things done.  This might sound like bullshit, but the best way I've found of avoiding them is based on a Tai Chi exercise called Qigong.  It's impossible to describe in writing, but it's about standing (or sitting if you're at work) in a relaxed posture.  It really does make a difference, especially if you can do it for 15 mins or so at the first sign of a headache.

Used to get migraines many years ago.  The only thing that worked for me was going to sleep.  Not easy when your head feels like that though!

I used suffer quite badly with migraines at times and previously my GP has prescribed propranolol which is a beta blocker which helped me until I fell pregnant and had to stop taking them.......

I was always told to avoid chocolate and cheese (mother)

Now all I ever suffer with is tension headaches, like a tight band round your head from your neck to forehead brought on by stress.

But I would suggest a trip to your GP that way if you need a preventative medication they can supply one.

I read somewhere that if you drink a can of 7up when you first feel one comeing on. Told the wife as she suffers from migraines and she tried it and it really works so she keeps a stock of them now.
She still has tablets for if the 7up doesnt work though.
