Hi all

i'm a bit confussed on wiring up some spot lights tring to get them to come on with main beam . i have wired up the relay i just need the switch wire to operate the relay. sounds simple just come off the poss going to the lamp hears the problem there is 12v on wire untill you switch it then it drops to 0. but the high beam comes on and the spots go off? any help i,m using the passenger side as there is less wires i have a red, red& white & white&blue.

you will need to test which wire is live when you switch to main beam, then connect to it...

lift man:
here is the wireing of the relay,,,

hi lift man

the relay is wired up correctly and i know which wire is the high beam, the problem is that there is 12v on the wire all the time evan when the keys are out and the lights are off ? when you put main beam on the voltage drops to 0 . so the switch wire has no voltage to power the relay. the only way i can think of is to use a normaly closed relay instead of a normaly open . the problem with this is the relay will be draining power from the battery even when the engine is off the only time it won't be pulling power from the battery is when the lights are on !! and i don't know if these relays are designed to work with the coil of the relay being pulled in all the time while the lights are not on .

    any idea's

    any one
