The Coolest Movie Car?
Grumpy:
Just watched the car chase from Bullitt, I think that the "Fastest car in the movies" should go to the green Volkswagen Beetle that gets overtaken four times he must be blooming quick to get round the block before the Charger and the Mustang come round again

Ahh the weiand supercharger, 6-71 (?) of boost, great bit of kit, had one back home, but never got around to using it, some of my friends had them on their cars, and as said the engine needs to be totally rebuilt to handle them, they put massive force on the bigends, they also have a habbit of stripping the stiuds holding them on, and if you have ever seen one come loose you understand why they have straps over them to keep them from flying, i thinik it actually part of the MOT/law in NZ that you have tohave them strapped,
A friend of mine built a hot rod back home, a ford pop, and he decided to use it for pro street drag racing, he had a super charger with NOS aswell, damn did this thing fly on the street aswell as the strip, only problem was fuel consumption, when it was built, the damn thing wouldnt start, it had two 1" fuel lines with two mallory blue pumps on each line, got it into a drag racing workshop, they tinkerd and came to the conclusion that it wasnt getting enough fuel, demonstrated by pouring aviation fuel straight into the buisness end, and it started fine, he ended up with two 3 inch fuel lines and three pumps per line :O
It ran low 11 secs on the drag strip on street tyres, last time i saw it befor i left NZ he had got a set a hozziers on it in an attempt to get better traction.
But man this thing was a rush to ride in, when the NOS kicked in, you new you were moving.. and the sound of the engine, small block V8 through straight headers........
Cheers

Having just seen it again recently, the Batmobile from Batman Begins is pretty cool, if a tad implausible :D But I wouldn't say no to one in my drive

Yes, especially as the Yank special-effects/custom-manufacturers said it couldn't be done, but the Brits sorted it out
Have you seen the 'Batman Begins' DVD with the extras showing the car being tested?
Also, the sound of the Super Swampers as they 'skitter around' on that wooden floor in the gym :D
