200tdi without an intercooler

i fired it up last night with the intercooler pipes on, or any exhaust. bloody hell was it loud, my neighbours must love me, i did it at 2230!
didnt quite realise what the time was

just to be sure it was ok, i whacked my K&N on the intake manifold, cos it was dark and i didnt know what was floating round my driveway

the turbo spooled up ok, sounded nice and mean.
not too much smoke either, considering the engine last ran about 6 months ago and before that had sat for 3 years. and wow did it start easy. i love it :D

what sort of K&N have you got?

I have a filter housing from a Peugeot 1.9 Td that i am thinking of using on mine.  The old Disco filter will go under the bonnet, but not on the cold side of the engine.  Picked the Pug one up out of a skip and it fits a treat ontop of the diesel pump where the air conditioning goes.  K&N do a filter to go in it but I also quite fancy a K&N cone inside the offside wing breathing through the wing vent.
